Fields of application

Dry-storage systems made by ASYS offer the optimum of protection for highly sensitive components and assembly parts. The cupboards are employed wherever storage under defined conditions as to humidity or active drying of assembly parts is necessary. Typical products of storage are for example electronic assembly units, partially assembled electronic units, printed circuit boards, foils, wafers and prefabricated parts with surfaces sensitive to oxidation.

Dehydration technique

There are 2 different dehydration techniques to obtain a dry atmosphere inside of the cupboard.

Series NFsys:

Controlled feed-in of nitrogen or dried compressed air.

Series AFsys:

Controlled drying and revolving of the air inside of the cupboard by an efficient adsorption-dryer. Closed recirculated-air system with high rates of air circulation. Additional possibility to install a heater module up to a maximum of 40°C for stress-free dehydration of assembly parts.

The controlled feed-in / drying of the media is supervised by an innovative technique of measurement and regulation. The relative humidity inside of the cupboard is constantly controlled by a highly-precise humidity sensor and shown at the display. A feed-in resp. drying does only take place if the preset nominal value of humidity is exceeded. Due to the tight construction of the cupboard the duration of the feed-in / drying is reduced to several minutes per hour in order to maintain the preset nominal value of humidity inside of the cupboard.

The cupboards are designed in a way that values of humidity of below 3 % r.h. can be achieved. Therefore the cupboards fulfil the requirements acc. to IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033A for unlimited duration of storage of electronic assembly parts under conditions of humidity of less than 5 % r.h..

Flexible conception of cupboards

The cupboards consist of a rigid body made of epoxy-coated steel in high-grade processing. The complete volume of the cupboard can be subdivided at choice by inserting stainless steel shelves. The shelves are designed for a load up to 50 kg. The cupboard is accessible by stable individual doors with surrounding sealing and window pane. The ingenious conception of the cupboard makes it possible to manufacture cupboards in various standard sizes as well as in individual special dimensions within shortest delays of delivery.

Options of equipment

With useful options of equipment the cupboards can be fitted out to meet the demands of the customer:

  • ESD-version, lockable doors
  • Visual or acoustic alarms
  • Installation of a dryer for treatment of compressed air (Applicable only for series NFsys)
  • Installation of SMD-roll holders, retractable shelves and feeder-benches
  • 3-chamber-system (division of the complete volume of the cupboard into 3 independent individual chambers)
  • Data-logging for documentation of humidity and temperature
  • Cleanroom-realization up to ISO class 5

The display of the digital indication of the actual value of humidity does also serve to preset the desired nominal value of humidity.


The technical cupboard can be opened towards the front on telescopic guide rails and so allows an optimal access to the installed techniques – even in narrow places.


Measurement of humidity inside of a cupboard by a calibrated, highly-precise humidity-sensor. The tip of the sensor can be changed within minutes, without having to calibrate the system again. An expensive, external calibration-service is not necessary any more.
